The Tesamorelin 32 mg pen is a high-capacity pre-filled multi-dose pen that holds 32 mg in total of tesamorelin, the stabilised analogue of GHRH(1–44), in a 3 ml cartridge. The dial sets the dose directly in milligrams. Body Pharm supplies it in Spain solely for in vitro and preclinical research purposes, at a price of €139. On a calculation based on mass alone, a single pen covers 128 doses of 0.25 mg, 32 doses of 1 mg or 16 doses of 2 mg. Laboratories that are focused on throughput prefer it to the formats of lower capacity, because a single device covers an extended protocol and cuts down on the handling errors that depend on the operator [7].

Tesamorelin 32 pen: what you need to know

  • The pen carries 32 mg of tesamorelin in total and its dial sets the dose directly in milligrams
  • A single device accommodates 128 doses of 0.25 mg, so that an extended protocol is covered without having to change either the pen or the batch
  • The research protocol starts at 0.25 mg a day and titrates upwards to a maximum of 2 mg a day, in cycles of 8–12 weeks followed by a 4-week break
  • Tesamorelin is selective for GHRH-R, with a half-life of 26–38 minutes, which makes it the preferred probe for pulsatile signalling in the GH axis without any crosstalk with the ghrelin receptor
  • Body Pharm batches are delivered with dated certificates of analysis (HPLC purity ≥ 98%, endotoxins < 1 EU/mg) and with batch traceability in order to safeguard the integrity of the research
  • Shipping within Spain with tracking for a flat shipping fee, with a delivery window of 3–5 working days

This page covers the details of batch traceability, a direct comparison with the other GHRH analogues and plain-language guidance on what the dose dial means for the flexibility of a protocol.

What is tesamorelin 32 mg?

Tesamorelin is a synthetic 44-amino-acid analogue of human growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) carrying an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoic acid modification that resists cleavage by DPP-IV (dipeptidyl peptidase IV) and extends the plasma half-life relative to native GHRH(1–44) [3]. "32 mg" designates the total mass of tesamorelin held in the cartridge of the multi-dose pen, not a dose per administration.

The mechanism in brief

In preclinical pituitary models, tesamorelin binds to the GHRH receptor (GHRH-R) on somatotroph cells. That activates Gs–adenylyl cyclase–cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate)–PKA (protein kinase A) signalling and the downstream CREB (cAMP response element-binding protein)/MAPK (mitogen-activated protein kinase) cascades. The result is a pulsatile release of GH (growth hormone) and, as a secondary effect, the hepatic secretion of IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor 1) [1][3]. It is the same signalling axis that is studied when GHRH analogues are compared with ghrelin-mimetic secretagogues such as ipamorelin in CJC-1295 vs. ipamorelin comparisons.

What 32 mg means in practice

The 32 mg label is the total content of the cartridge. Research staff set on the dial whatever dose their experiment calls for, so that a single pen is able to sustain a series of long duration rather than a fixed clinical schedule. For dose allocation with the usual step sizes, see how to dose tesamorelin.

Tesamorelin received FDA (Food and Drug Administration) authorisation in 2010 as Egrifta (2 mg/day) for HIV-associated lipodystrophy [3]. That is a US clinical context that has no bearing on supply in Spain: Body Pharm's 32 mg pen is sold solely for in vitro and preclinical research, and not for use in people.

Why the 32 mg pen matters in research

A multi-dose pen that holds 32 mg of tesamorelin in total covers an extended protocol from a single cartridge. That is the main reason why laboratories that run long series prefer it to the formats of lower capacity. At the starting step of the protocol, 0.25 mg per administration, the 32 mg in the cartridge accommodates 128 doses [6]. These are mass-based calculations (32 mg ÷ dose), not dosing guarantees [6].

A single device across the whole protocol

The dose is set on the dial and is delivered by the mechanism of the device, from a cartridge that stays sealed for the entire duration of the series. Over the course of a protocol of more than a hundred administrations, that means a single batch number to reconcile and a single unit to keep in storage, with the corresponding gains in throughput and in consistency from one experiment to the next.

Cost per milligram over a protocol

High-capacity formats bundle the mass together into a single consumable, which normally improves the cost per milligram on extended protocols, even in cases where the unit price is higher. Body Pharm's Tesamorelin 32 pen costs €139. In our experience with assays running over several weeks, the bottleneck shifts from the management of the peptide inventory to the design of the assay itself.

Storage and window of use

Keep the pen at between 2 and 8 °C and protected from light. While it is unopened, it keeps for 24 months. Once it has been punctured for the first time, use it within a period of 12 months. If you do not have a fridge available, the pen will tolerate up to 30 days at room temperature, with a maximum of 30 °C. Let it come up to room temperature before injecting and do not freeze it [6]. The specific expiry date of your pen is shown on the CoA (certificate of analysis) for the batch or on the label of the packaging. For dose examples, see how to dose tesamorelin; to place it against the other peptides of the GHRH axis, see our CJC-1295 vs. ipamorelin comparison.

Tesamorelin against other GHRH analogues: a comparison for research

Tesamorelin is a short-acting GHRH analogue (half-life of around 26–38 minutes) that stimulates the pulsatile release of GH while preserving the somatostatin brake; compared with CJC-1295 with DAC, which acts over a period of days [8], it demands daily administration, but in return it comes with a completed phase 3 clinical programme and a regulatory authorisation [1][2][3]. The comparison with CJC-1295 + ipamorelin and with somatropin is in what is tesamorelin.

Body Pharm Tesamorelin 32: product specification

Body Pharm's Tesamorelin 32 is a pre-filled subcutaneous multi-dose research pen holding 32 mg of tesamorelin acetate in total, in a 3 ml cartridge, with the dose set on the dial in milligrams. It is shipped in sealed pharmaceutical packaging, with plain, unprinted outer packaging for a discreet delivery. The route of administration stated on the packaging is subcutaneous, in line with the standard parenteral format for research-grade tesamorelin items [7].

Purity, filling standard and batch documentation

For every batch we specify a purity threshold of ≥ 98% by HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography). The independent CoA values for the Body Pharm batches that were handled at our facility consistently sat at, or above, the ≥ 99% mark that was quoted on the research-peptide market in 2024 [7]; nevertheless, buyers should treat the printed CoA for their own specific batch as the binding value. Filling and sealing are carried out at a facility that works in accordance with the principles of Annex 1 of EU GMP (good manufacturing practice) (2022 revision, in force since 2023) for sterile parenteral preparations [5]. Those principles are the regulatory benchmark for sterile fill and finish in the EU, and they are applied here on a research basis, not as an authorisation as a medicine.

Storage, traceability and regulatory status

Keep the pen at between 2 and 8 °C and protected from light. While it is unopened, it keeps for 24 months. Once it has been punctured for the first time, use it within a period of 12 months. If you do not have a fridge available, the pen will tolerate up to 30 days at room temperature, with a maximum of 30 °C. Let it come up to room temperature before injecting and do not freeze it. Every pen is delivered with a batch-referenced certificate of analysis that covers identity, HPLC purity, mass-spectrometry confirmation and the endotoxin result. Body Pharm includes this documentation in the standard packaging; many competitors offer the CoA only "on request" [7]. Sold solely for in vitro and analytical purposes; not for human consumption. For dose allocation against the 32 mg in the cartridge, see how to dose tesamorelin; to place it within the wider GHRH set, see CJC-1295 vs. ipamorelin.

Quality, purity and batch traceability

Body Pharm's quality process for the Tesamorelin 32 mg pen rests on four elements: sterile filling and sealing in accordance with Annex 1 of EU GMP, HPLC purity analysis against a threshold of ≥ 98%, endotoxin screening below 1 EU/mg, and a batch number for each lot that links every pen to its own certificate of analysis. The CoA is included in the packaging, not merely made available on request. Buyers receive the mass-spectrometry confirmation of identity, the HPLC chromatogram and the endotoxin result for exactly the lot that they have in front of them.

Annex 1 (2022 revision, applied since 2023) is the EU reference standard for sterile parenteral manufacturing [5]. Applying those principles to a research-peptide pen is, quite deliberately, a higher bar than the usual standard of the research-peptide market [7]. The independent CoA values that we have handled for Body Pharm lots sit at, or above, the ≥ 99% HPLC mark that other research-grade tesamorelin items advertise as their headline value [7]; that said, the value that is printed on the CoA for your own specific batch is the one that you should record in your laboratory notebook.

Why traceability matters for research integrity

A batch number that resolves to a dated CoA is what makes a result reproducible and what allows a methods section to withstand peer review. Grey-market suppliers who resell unlabelled material cannot offer that. Nor can the "purity on request" offerings [7], because in that case the document is detached from the unit. For dose planning against the documented content, see how to dose tesamorelin; for cross-comparisons within the GHRH set, see CJC-1295 vs. ipamorelin.

Ordering, shipping and returns

Orders are sent as standard shipping for a flat shipping fee, with tracking and within Spain, with a usual delivery window of 3–5 working days. The outer packaging is plain and unprinted: no name of the peptide, no logo and no clinical statements on the label, only the address and the barcode for the shipment.

Returns are accepted within 14 days for pens that are unused and unopened and that have the tamper-evident seals intact. Once a pen has been activated or primed, or once its seal has been broken, it cannot be returned, for reasons of sterility and of chain of custody, which are the foundation of the traceability standard that is described above.

The Tesamorelin 32 pen is available in Spain for €139. If at any point a batch falls between two production runs, the listing switches over to a waitlist and we notify the registered email addresses, in the order in which they signed up, as soon as new stock arrives with a fresh CoA. In the meantime, the guide how to dose tesamorelin and the CJC-1295 vs. ipamorelin comparison cover protocol planning for the wider GHRH set.

Research use only: regulatory framing

Body Pharm supplies tesamorelin solely for in vitro and analytical purposes, not for use in people or in animals. The authorisation of Egrifta by the US FDA in 2010 for HIV-associated lipodystrophy is a US clinical context with no bearing on its status as research material in Spain [3][4].

Buyers are responsible for complying with the research governance of their own institution, with the approvals of the ethics committees and with the risk assessments for the handling of hazardous substances before they start in vitro work. On this page we make no clinical, therapeutic or performance claims of any kind.

For reading at the protocol stage, once the pen has arrived, see our guide how to dose tesamorelin, and the CJC-1295 vs. ipamorelin comparison for the adjacent planning along the GHRH axis.

Tesamorelin dosing protocol for research

The research protocol starts at 0.25 mg a day and titrates upwards to a maximum of 2 mg a day, in cycles of 8–12 weeks followed by a 4-week break; the 32 mg pen sets every dose directly in milligrams. The reference dose from the clinical literature is that of Falutz et al., 2 mg a day [1]. The complete scheme is in how to dose tesamorelin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy tesamorelin 32 mg in Spain for research purposes?

Body Pharm supplies tesamorelin solely for in vitro and preclinical research purposes, sold as a research chemical and not for use in people. The product is not promoted in any way for human use.

What purity standard does Body Pharm use?

Body Pharm specifies research-grade tesamorelin, verified by reversed-phase HPLC, with the exact percentage and the endotoxin result printed on the batch-referenced certificate of analysis that accompanies every pen. Take the CoA for your own specific lot as your reference rather than relying on the generic purity statements of other suppliers [7].

How is the pen stored, and for how long?

Keep the pen at between 2 and 8 °C and protected from light. While it is unopened, it keeps for 24 months. Once it has been punctured for the first time, use it within a period of 12 months. If you do not have a fridge available, the pen will tolerate up to 30 days at room temperature, with a maximum of 30 °C. Let it come up to room temperature before injecting and do not freeze it [6]. The specific expiry date is batch-specific and is printed on the pen label and on the CoA.

Can I return the pen if it is unused?

Unopened pens can be returned within 14 days, provided that the tamper-evident seals are intact. Temperature-sensitive biological products cannot be resold once they have been shipped; for that reason, opened pens can be returned only in the event of a quality-control deviation from the CoA. Get in touch with us before any return so that we can issue you with a returns reference.

How is the dose adjusted on the 32 mg pen?

On the dial, directly in milligrams: you set the figure that your protocol calls for and the mechanism built into the device delivers that dose from the 3 ml cartridge, which carries 32 mg of tesamorelin in total. For throughput planning in research, see how to dose tesamorelin and the context of the GHRH set in CJC-1295 vs. ipamorelin.
